EL RASTRO

Mothers day trip to the Sunday flea market <3
Before coming to Madrid, I decided to research on famous flea markets...
I spotted this one right away. EL RASTRO. Located along Plaza de Cascorro and Ribera de Curtidores, between Calle Embajadores and the Ronda de Toledo. As per WIKIPEDIA, according to municipal rules, el Rastro takes place every Sunday and public holiday of the year, from 9 am to 3 pm, in the barrio de Embajadores ('Ambassador's neighborhood) in the Central District of Madrid. The Madrid town council regulates the markets. A maximum of 3500 stalls cover the area from the Plaza de Cascorro. so there. |
The one Sunday we had this trip happened to fall on Mothers Day!....& The Valenciano concert.
We still went anyway. We were told to keep our valuables close by and not to dress too flashy because of the gypsies. The thought of Esmerelda doesn't scare me but ok;p Kiana and I dashed through the aisles interested and not too interested in certain stalls... Some reminded us of things that we could easily buy in Manila, for a cheaper price. We spotted a few treasures though and memorized their locations after going through it all, so we could go back on our way out. We both ended up buying our favourite rings, Kiana got one of those pretty bags that sadly, was too small for my phone & then we made it to the little old man who was selling the hand made crowns. We couldn't resist. We left as princesses of el Rastro ;p |

Too pretty but at the same time, too small for my phone :(
Silver moonstone ring for 30. Pretty pricey but it was the only one they made like this <3
